GUWAHATI: The mortal remains of evergreen Assamese actor Nippon Goswami merged with Panchabhoot on Friday. He was given a final farewell with full state honours at the Navagraha cremation ground. His fans were also present at the crematorium to pay tribute.
Earlier the mortal body of the actor was kept at Jyoti Chitravan, where people paid their last respects. From here the body was brought to Shrimant Sankardev Kalakshetra, where a large number of his admirers paid their respects. After this, the body was also taken to Dighalipukhuri, Rabindra Bhawan and Shaheed Nyas Bhawan. Many fans also took part in the funeral procession and bid farewell to the beloved artist with tearful eyes. The last rites of the actor were performed with state honours at the Navagraha crematorium.
The evergreen actor from Assam breathed his last at Namecare Hospital on Thursday. The death of Goswami, who has acted in more than 100 films, has sent a wave of mourning across the state.
