Israeli Raids Across Occupied West Bank Leave Two Shot, Several Arrested

Israeli forces launched a series of overnight raids across the occupied West Bank, resulting in multiple arrests and at least two people being shot, including a child.

In the town of Awarta, southwest of Nablus, a Palestinian child was shot in the back during an Israeli raid and rushed to hospital. The child’s condition remains unknown at this time.

According to reports from the Wafa news agency and local Palestinian media, several other incidents occurred during the raids:

  • In western Nablus, Israeli forces shot and detained a young Palestinian man, identified as Yazan Odeh, after surrounding a home on Tal Street. Images shared online showed soldiers stationed outside the house and the injured man lying face down, with the interior of the home ransacked.
  • Hamza Hanani was arrested during a raid on his home in Beit Furik, a town east of Nablus.
  • In a pre-dawn operation, four young Palestinians were detained in separate raids on al-Mazraa ash-Sharqiya and Kobar, located east and northwest of Ramallah respectively.
  • Israeli troops shut down checkpoints around Jericho, causing major traffic disruptions and cutting off movement into and out of the city.
  • Several homes were searched in the town of Qabalan, south of Nablus, during early morning raids, according to the deputy mayor. Additional raids were also reported in Malha, north of Bethlehem.
  • In occupied East Jerusalem’s al-Issawiya neighborhood, one man was arrested during a home raid that left his residence in disarray.

These developments come amid escalating tensions and a rise in military activity across the occupied Palestinian territories.
