Islamabad – Following India’s recent military action, panic seems to have gripped Pakistan’s defense establishment. In a significant development, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has reportedly relocated nearly half of its advanced F-16 Block 52+ fighter jets to Pasni Airfield, located near Gwadar on the Arabian Sea coast. This move is being seen as a strategic attempt to shield these aircraft from India’s powerful S-400 Triumf air defense system.

Strategic Relocation to Avoid Detection

The repositioning of these high-value fighter jets is viewed as a preventive measure aimed at avoiding detection and destruction by India’s S-400 systems. The S-400, one of the most advanced air defense systems globally, has the capability to track and destroy enemy aircraft and missiles at long ranges. With India recently bolstering its air defense capabilities with the S-400, Pakistan appears to be taking precautions to safeguard its limited fleet of F-16s.

India’s Growing Air Defense Capability

India’s acquisition of the S-400 from Russia has significantly strengthened its ability to neutralize aerial threats deep into enemy territory. The system’s advanced radar and targeting capabilities have forced Pakistan to reconsider the deployment of its fighter assets near the border.

Pakistan’s Security Strategy

Pasni Airfield, located in the coastal province of Balochistan, provides a safer zone for aircraft due to its distance from India’s border and proximity to the sea. This allows the PAF to maintain operational readiness while minimizing vulnerability. The decision to relocate F-16s reflects Pakistan’s concern about losing its expensive and strategically vital aircraft to a pre-emptive Indian strike.

International Response – China’s Concerns

China has expressed concern over the growing military tension between India and Pakistan, urging both nations to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could destabilize the region further. China called on both sides to prioritize diplomatic channels and prevent an escalation of conflict.

Pakistan’s move clearly underlines its acknowledgment of India’s superior air defense capabilities and marks a notable shift in its defense posture in response to Indian military assertiveness.
