In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi said, “I join the nation in welcoming Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla as he returns to Earth from his historic mission to Space. Group Captain Shukla’s mission to the ISS is being hailed as a breakthrough in India’s manned space program. It not only enhances India’s global standing in space science but also paves the way for the upcoming Gaganyaan mission — the country’s first fully indigenous human spaceflight.

The mission, executed with international collaboration, demonstrates India’s growing capability in astronaut training, advanced spacecraft systems, and deep space coordination. Shukla’s presence aboard the ISS symbolizes India’s entry into elite global space operations.

A Nation Inspired

The Prime Minister’s tribute reflects the pride and aspiration the mission has ignited among Indians. Shukla’s courage and determinatio become a source of national inspiration, especially for young minds dreaming of space, science, and innovation.

With this mission, India moves closer to becoming a key player in the global space race. The achievement is expected to energize scientific research, space education, and investment in advanced aerospace technologies. The Gaganyaan mission, now in advanced stages, stands to benefit directly from the insights and data gathered during this journey.

Group Captain Shukla’s return marks not just the completion of a successful mission — it signals the dawn of a new era in India’s human spaceflight programme.
