Jaipur: A review meeting of the Jal Jeevan Mission was called by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in Jaipur. On this occasion, he said that the state government is engaged in completing the works of Jal Jeevan Mission, despite the uneven geographical conditions and scattered habitations of the state. This is an ambitious plan for ‘Har Ghar Jal’. Therefore, the development of permanent water sources should be ensured in the state, so that the problem of drinking water does not have to be faced in future. He directed that for effective implementation of this mission, the time for various level approvals should be minimised so that work can start soon on the ground. During this, the Chief Minister also gave instructions to take strict action against illegal connections, for use of boosters and those who damaged the lines in the state. 13,000 crore rupees have been spent so far in the Jal Jeevan Mission to provide accessible drinking water to the common people. In this, Rajasthan ranks fourth among the leading states of the country. As compared to 3,488 crore rupees in the last financial year, in the year 2022-23, so far 6,700 crore rupees i.e. double the amount has been spent. A target has been set to spend about 7,500 crore rupees on the mission this year.
