Ahead of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, the Tibetan community in Delhi staged a protest on September 8 against the Chinese government. Protestors in large numbers gathered at Delhi’s Majnu Ka Tila to raise their voices against China. Heavy security forces have been deployed near Majnu Ka Tilla in view of the protest. Delhi Police cordoned off the area to maintain law and order. The police have stated that the situation is under control, and looking forward to handling the situation peacefully. “We had received a request for a protest from the Tibetian Youth Congress in the Aruna Nagar area. We have denied the request, but if any protest takes place, we’ll try to counter it peacefully and effectively while maintaining law and order. “We have local police and a CPMF team to counter the situation effectively,” said Sagar Singh Kalsi, DCP North. Chinese President Xi Jinping will not attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit to be held in India. China’s Premier Li Qiang will represent China on behalf of Xi Jinping at G20 Leaders’ Summit
