The Political Observer, Rewari: BJP MLA Laxman Singh Yadav, recently elected from Rewari, was seen in action mode as he visited the city’s oldest and most prominent green space, Rao Tularam Park. Known as the “London of Ahirwal,” Rewari and its neighboring districts of Mahendragarh and Gurugram fall under his constituency. In an effort to address local concerns, Yadav took the initiative to meet with residents and assess the state of the park’s infrastructure, promising swift action on the reported issues.
Early in the morning, Yadav arrived at Rao Tularam Park, where a large number of residents had gathered to voice their grievances. Residents informed the MLA about multiple problems plaguing the park, including broken pathways, unclean and dysfunctional toilets, a lack of garbage bins, poor drainage, and the absence of potable water. The park, a popular destination for both morning and evening visitors, is crucial to the city’s recreational and social fabric, but it has suffered from neglect in recent years.
In response to the concerns, Yadav summoned officials from the Rewari Municipal Council to the park for an on-the-spot inspection. He directed them to take immediate measures to improve the park’s condition, issuing a one-month deadline for completing the necessary repairs and upgrades. Specifically, Yadav asked the officials to prioritize fixing broken tracks, maintaining toilets, and installing garbage bins to ensure a cleaner, more organized environment.
Yadav also emphasized the importance of accountability, warning that strict action would be taken against municipal officials if the work was not completed within the stipulated time frame. Additionally, he requested that a new board displaying the park’s name be installed to enhance its identity and visibility.
“The problems in Rao Tularam Park, such as broken paths, lack of proper sanitation facilities, and inadequate drainage, are affecting the daily experience of the residents who visit the park for their morning and evening routines. I have directed the municipal council to address these issues within the month, and I will ensure that residents don’t have to face these problems again,” Yadav stated.
Beyond the immediate concerns of Rao Tularam Park, Yadav also instructed municipal officials to conduct inspections across other parks in Rewari city. This, he said, would allow them to identify similar issues and implement timely solutions, ensuring that all green spaces in the city are well-maintained and fully functional.
Sandeep Malik, the Executive Officer of the Rewari Municipal Council, confirmed that the city is home to over 50 parks. While Residents Welfare Associations (RWAs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) handle horticultural responsibilities, the municipal council is tasked with maintenance, cleanliness, and repairs. Malik assured that the council’s teams would conduct a thorough inspection of all the parks to assess the need for repairs and improvements. Where necessary, tenders would be issued to initiate civil works to enhance park infrastructure.
Yadav’s visit to Rao Tularam Park marks a proactive approach in addressing public grievances and improving the quality of life for Rewari’s residents. With municipal officials now on alert, the city’s parks are set to undergo a much-needed transformation, providing a cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable space for all.
