Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav has announced his party’s complete backing for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Addressing a press conference at the SP headquarters in Lucknow, he emphasized that the alleged corruption and misgovernance by the BJP in Uttar Pradesh would be highlighted during the campaign in Bihar.
“We are fully behind Lalu Prasad Yadav ji and Tejashwi ji in Bihar. The public will be made aware of the truth about the BJP’s conduct in Uttar Pradesh,” Yadav said.
He went on to suggest that the BJP has no real plans to reinstall Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister.
“The BJP is merely using Nitish Kumar ji’s image. In reality, they want to sideline him. Once they no longer need him, they will force him into political retirement,” he alleged.
Yadav also took aim at the BJP’s use of religious symbolism, indirectly criticizing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath:
“Wearing saffron robes doesn’t automatically make one a saint or a yogi. What truly matters is one’s values and behavior,” he said.
He accused the BJP of diverting public attention from pressing national issues, claiming that the ruling party avoids addressing fundamental problems like unemployment, inflation, and inequality.
“The people are waiting. The 2027 Uttar Pradesh elections will mark a major shift in the political narrative,” he asserted confidently.
