Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday lashed out at the BJP-led state government, accusing it of mismanaging the power supply and allowing the electricity distribution system to “collapse.”
In a strongly worded post on X, Gehlot mocked the government’s claims of rural development, saying, “The villages may look good on paper, but the data is fake and the claims are hollow.”
He pointed out that despite the BJP celebrating one year in power with claims of making Rajasthan a “power-surplus” state, widespread power cuts are now affecting both urban and rural areas as temperatures rise.
“Power cuts in a so-called surplus state reveal the government’s failure. The distribution network has broken down, leaving citizens to suffer,” the Congress veteran said.
