Thane: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has initiated family visits for beneficiaries of the ‘‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’, ahead of the Assembly elections. On Tuesday, he personally visited 15 families in Thane’s Kapri-Pachpakhadi constituency to check if they received the scheme’s benefits.
Shinde, the Shiv Sena’s chief leader, stated that senior party leaders would meet beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Kutumb Bhet’’ campaign to ensure proper implementation of the scheme. Those who have not received benefits will be guided on the process.
Shinde aims to reach ‘‘1 crore families’ across Maharashtra within a week. The ‘‘Yuva Sena’ youth wing has been tasked with running the campaign statewide. The Chief Minister said this initiative is unique as the benefits are reaching eligible recipients within a month of the scheme’s announcement.
The campaign involves one lakh workers visiting households, recording interactions through a dedicated app. ‘‘Yuva Sena president Parvesh Sarnaik’, who accompanied Shinde, emphasized resolving registration issues for the beneficiaries.
During Shinde’s visit, beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the scheme. Sheetal Kavlekar praised the financial aid as essential support, especially for women who do not work. Swati Ghadge appreciated the Chief Minister’s personal inquiry into her situation, ensuring she received the scheme’s benefits.
